ABOUT US

A public power utility company JP “Elektroprivreda HZ HB“ d.d. Mostar (established on August 28, 1992) is a joint-stock company in which the largest share of the share capital is held by the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina  (90%), while the remaining share (10%) is owned by investment funds, banks and other legal entities and natural persons, both residents and non-residents, who acquired their shares through the process of public stock registration.

JP “Elektroprivreda HZ HB“ d.d. Mostar operates in 35 municipalities of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and holds licenses for the production, distribution, supply and trade of electricity issued by the Regulatory Commission for Energy in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FERK) and the State Regulatory Commission for Electricity in Bosnia and Herzegovina (SERC).

 

 

ELECTRICITY GENERATION

 

The company manages a portfolio of seven hydroelectric power plants (HPP Rama, PSHPP Čapljina, HPP Mostar, HPP Jajce I, HPP Jajce II, HPP Peć Mlini and HPP Mostarsko Blato) with a total installed capacity of 872 MW, therefore, electricity production from the capacities of JP “Elektroprivreda HZ HB” d.d. Mostar largely depends on hydrological conditions. On March 14, 2018, the first wind power plant in Bosnia and Herzegovina – the Mesihovina wind power plant, with an installed capacity of 50.6 MW, was put into operation, bringing the total production portfolio of the company to 922.6 MW. Considering global trends in the energy sector, especially emphasizing the goals of increasing the share of electricity production from renewable sources in production and final consumption, JP “Elektroprivreda HZ HB” d.d. Mostar, whose entire production portfolio is based on renewable energy sources, has expressed its commitment to following and implementing modern trends, knowledge, and technologies in its operations.

 

ELECTRICITY DISTRIBUTION

JP “Elektroprivreda HZ HB” d.d. Mostar owns a total of 13,423 kilometers of distribution network, including 295 kilometers of 35 kV network, 4,445 kilometers of 10(20) kV network, and 8,683 kilometers of 0.4 kV network. The company operates a total of 3,954 substations, with a total installed capacity of 35/10(20) kV substations of 117.5 MW, and 10(20)/0.4 kV substations of 1,240.5 MW. Thanks to the efforts and resources invested, JP “Elektroprivreda HZ HB” d.d. Mostar records a trend of reducing distribution losses year by year, with total network distribution losses amounting to 8.74% in 2023. To facilitate easier consumption reading and monitoring of consumption per substation area, as well as to provide other necessary information for optimal planning of distribution network development, around 90,000 smart meters have been installed for customers in the operational area of JP “Elektroprivreda HZ HB” d.d. Mostar.  

 

 

 

 

ELECTRICITY SUPPLY AND TRADE

JP “Elektroprivreda HZ HB” d.d. Mostar supplies around 203,000 end customers with electricity. By decision of the Government of the Federation of BiH, JP “Elektroprivreda HZ HB” d.d. Mostar was assigned the status of a public supplier and the obligation to provide public/universal service and default supplier service to end customers in its operational area. JP “Elektroprivreda HZ HB” d.d. Mostar is an active participant in the electricity market in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the segment of electricity trading on the wholesale market.

At the end of 2023, JP “Elektroprivreda HZ HB” d.d. Mostar employed a total of 2,332 employees. OUR OBJECTIVES

Preparations are underway for the construction of new hydroelectric power plants, wind power plants, and photovoltaic power plants, in accordance with the Company’s business plans. We are putting great effort into modernizing operations in electricity distribution through the continuous installation of smart meters and their integration into the remote reading system. Additionally, the SCADA/DMS/OMS implementation project will enhance the continuity and quality of electricity supply to customers, as well as improve the safety and reliability of the distribution grid.

In addition to providing high-quality and safe power supply, our key focus is building strong and lasting relationships with our customers. JP “Elektroprivreda HZ HB“ d.d. Mostar pays great attention to this segment of business operations by identifying and resolving customer issues.
