THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF JP  “ELEKTROPRIVREDA HZ HB“ d.d. Mostar

Energy efficiency is an increasingly vital concept in power engineering. Driven by advancements in technology, evolving electricity market conditions, and new financing options, a significant intensification of energy efficiency measures is anticipated in the coming years.

In the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the foundation for this progress is established by the Law on Energy Efficiency. This legislation governs energy efficiency in final consumption, recognizing it as a matter of public interest. It mandates the formulation and implementation of plans to enhance energy efficiency and outlines essential measures such as energy services and energy audits.

The Law also delineates the responsibilities of the public sector and specifies the rights and obligations of end consumers across various sectors, including public, residential, commercial, and large consumers. It addresses the application of energy efficiency measures, financing strategies for energy improvements, and other crucial aspects related to energy efficiency in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In adherence to legal obligations and responding to the demands of daily business operations, JP “Elektroprivreda HZ HB” d.d. Mostar places significant emphasis on energy efficiency measures:

• We exclusively use renewable energy sources for power generation. Through constant investments in the renovation, revitalization, and modernization of our hydroelectric power plants, along with the construction of new renewable capacities, our company achieves high energy efficiency in power generation.
• JP “Elektroprivreda HZ HB” d.d. Mostar has developed a robust distribution network and allocates substantial resources to reduce distribution losses. This has resulted in a long-term trend of decreasing losses, with average distribution losses now approximately below 9%.
• We actively promote energy efficiency measures and power savings through continuous communication with customers. The growing number of installed smart meters provides customers with detailed information about their electricity consumption and usage patterns.
• As part of our power supply services, we continuously analyze consumption patterns and propose power-saving measures to our customers.
