WASTE MANAGEMENT BY JP „ELEKTROPRIVREDA HZ HB“ d. d. Mostar

Wate is any substance or object which its holder discards, intends to discard or is required to discard, that is, any object and substance whose collection, transport and processing are necessary for the purpose of protecting the public interest.
According to the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the area of waste management falls under the jurisdiction of entities, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republika Srpska and Brčko District, and is defined by entity laws on waste management. At the same time, the competence is divided between the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism (which adopts the legislative framework and is responsible for environmental protection issues of the entire entity) and the cantonal ministries for environmental management.
The legislative framework for environmental management consists of six laws with by-laws regulating individual segments of environmental management in detail. The set of environmental laws includes:

Waste generated in JP „Elektroprivreda HZ HB“ d. d. Mostar is separated at the point of generation according to type and properties into non-hazardous and hazardous waste. All waste is disposed of in accordance with legal regulations and the on Disposing of Assets Removed from the Inventory, Hazardous Materials and Waste of JP „Elektroprivreda HZ HB“ d. d. Mostar.
Hazardous waste is disposed of at the level of the Company (through the work of the Central Committee for disposal of assets removed from the inventory, which is made up of representatives of all organizational units of the Company), and non-hazardous at the level of individual organizational units of the Company (through the work of Committees in organizational units).
The waste is then handed over to companies authorized for management, i.e. collection, transport, treatment and export until the final disposal of various types of waste generated in JP „Elektroprivreda HZ HB“ d. d. Mostar in accordance with legal regulations.
According to the “Regulation on the Waste Management Information System (Official Gazette of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina No. 97/18 of 13 December 2018), we are obliged, through the Environmental Protection Fund of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to provide annual reporting and direct data entry as “entities that produce/have waste as a result of their activity or production processes “.

 

FISH STOCKING

JP „Elektroprivreda HZ HB“ d.d. Mostar restocks the fishing waters where our hydroelectric power plants are built. Fish stocking is carried out in accordance with the valid Fishing Basics and Annual Fisheries Improvement Programs prepared by the fishing right user for a specific fishing area.
The fishing waters of the rivers Neretva, Radobolja, Buna, Bunica, Jasenica, Rama (with tributaries), Trebižat, as well as the hydroelectric reservoirs Mostar, Mostarsko blato, Rama and Vrutak and the Hutovo Upper Balancing Reservoir are stocked in the Neretva River basin. The types of fish/fish fingerlings that are stocked are: brown trout, rainbow trout, soft-mouth trout, marble trout, lake char, brook trout and carp.
The fishing waters of the Veliko Plivsko Lake, Malo Plivsko Lake and Barevo Hydroelectric Reservoir are stocked with fish/fingerlings, brown trout and carp in the Vrbas River basin.

WATER MONITORING

Sampling and testing (monitoring) of water quality is carried out at the outlet of hydroelectric power plants twice a year by authorized laboratories.
