JP „Elektroprivreda HZ HB“ d.d. Mostar is the only electric power company in Bosnia and Herzegovina generating power exclusively from renewable sources. However, at certain times (mainly in the summer months) electricity for the supply of end customers must be purchased on the market, and therefore, before the system of guarantees of origin became functional, there was no legal possibility to guarantee customers that every kilowatt-hour delivered to them was “renewable”.
Listening to the needs of our customers looking for a guarantee or confirmation that the supplied electric power was produced from renewable sources, i.e. a confirmation about the structure of consumption and carbon footprint, precisely because of its focus on renewable energy sources and sustainable development in all segments of its business, JP „Elektroprivreda HZ HB“ d.d. Mostar was the first in Bosnia and Herzegovina to enable the contracting of “green models” to its customers within the framework of market supply as of 1 January 2023. These models can be contracted by all customers, except for customers from the household category.
If the customer decides to contract the “green model”, for every kilowatt-hour consumed, it will receive a guarantee that the electric power delivered to it was entirely generated in plants using renewable sources for the power generation.
The Law on the Use of Renewable Energy Sources and Efficient Cogeneration in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina defines that the only way to guarantee the renewable nature of the supplied power is for it to be fully covered by guarantees of origin issued by an authorized body – the Renewable Energy Sources and Efficient Cogeneration Operator.
The customers who decide to contract “green models” for a fee of 0.05 pfennigs per kilowatt-hour used will be able to receive a guarantee that the power supplied to them is fully covered by the guarantees of origin issued by the Renewable Energy Sources and Efficient Cogeneration Operator.
The customers supplied within the framework of “green models” of JP „Elektroprivreda HZ HB“ d.d. Mostar are entitled to use the Company’s trademark “green models” for marketing purposes, that is, they can display this trademark on their letterheads, packaging, websites, etc. for the duration of the contractual relationship.
