Distribution area Center most affected
Floods and landslides caused by the storm, which in the night of Thursday to Friday hit the area north of Mostar, most affected our Distribution area Center (area of Central Bosnia), particularly our branch offinces Kreševo, Kiseljak and Fojnica which suffered material damage on transmission lines and substations. The extent of damage has not yet been determined. Impassable roads and inaccessible terrain hamper the efforts to rehabilitate the roads and it is difficult to determine the exact extent of damage. As a result of the damage electricity supply was cut off in certain settlements. Most customers were left without power in the area of the Kiseljak branch. Our employees, in cooperation with the protection and rescue services, are coordinating efforts to restore electricity supply in those areas where that is possible at the moment.
We inform the public that the expert services and field units of JP ‘’ELEKTROPRIVREDA HZ HB’’ d.d. Mostar are doing their best to secure full operational readiness of our power plants and a stable supply of electricity.
Operational readiness of our hydroelectric power plants is not compromised at this moment, and they are operating without major problems and according to the planned schedule. No material damage has been detected on any of the plants. The inflows at the power plants are within the installed flow, with the exception of HPP Mostar, where increased inflows were recorded, with a downward trend. Our operational teams are closely monitoring the situation on the ground and are taking preventive measures to minimize the possible consequences of the floods, adequately manage the power plants and ensure their stable operation in these challenging and emergency circumstances. All of our generation plants are working in compliance with the regulations and for now there are no problems in this segment.
A significant number of our employees responded to the call of the Transfusion Center of UCH Mostar and donated blood for the victims of Konjic and Jablanica. We express our sincere condolences to families of the victims as well as the support to the protection and rescue services. We hope that the weather conditions will stabilize and make possible a quick reparation of the damage and delivering aid to the victims.
