Invitation to public consultations and presentation of the instruments for the environment and society for the Project to increase renewable energy in Bosnia and Herzegovina (SURE P513984)
In accordance with the Environment and Society Framework of the World Bank (ESF), the Public Company ˮElektroprivreda HZ HBˮ joint-stock company Mostar, HPP Vrbas River Basin, invites institutions, companies, civil society ogranizations, representatives of local communities and all other interested parties to participate in
PUBLIC CONSULTATIONS AND PRESENTATION
of the instruments for the environment and society prepared for
the Project to increase renewable energy in Bosnia and Herzegovina
(SURE project – P513984)
The project, developed in partnership with the World Bank. aims to support the transition to a low-carbon, reliable and flexible electricity system by financing the rehabilitation of hydropower facilities and the expansion of distributed renewable energy sources, with targeted technical assistance, one part of which in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is implemented by the Public Company ˮElektroprivreda HZ HBˮ joint-stock company Mostar, HPP Vrbas River Basin (the HPP Jajce II Rehabilitation Project).
Public consultations will be held on 22 May 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the premises of the Public Company ˮElektroprivreda HZ HBˮ joint-stock company Mostar, address: Baščeluci 3, Jajce. Participation will also be possible online via a link.
The following documents on environment and social risk management prepared for the Project will also be presented and discussed:
· Environmental and Social Audit for the HPP Jajce II with the integrated Environmental and Social Risk Management Plan (ESMP) for the activities of rehabilitation
· Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP) for the activities of the HPP Jajce II rehabilitation Activities on environmental protection – HPP Jajce II rehabilitation project : Elektroprivreda HZHB Mostar
· Labour Management Procedures (LMP) for the activities of the HPP Jajce II rehabilitation Activities on environmental protection – HPP Jajce II rehabilitation project : Elektroprivreda HZHB Mostar
The documents define the procedures, mitigation measures, stakeholder involvement arrangements and requirements for workforce management. According to these documents, the Renewable Energy Investment Project will be implemented in accordance with the World Bank environment and social standards (ESS1–ESS10).
The documents have been published and are publicly available on the official website of the Public Company ˮElektroprivreda HZ HBˮ joint-stock company Mostar, www.ephzhb.ba.
