The first wind farm in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Wind Farm MESIHOVINA, was put into operation on 14 March 2018, on the Mesihovina plateau in Gornji Brišnik, Municipality of Tomislavgrad. The Wind farm Mesihovina consists of 22 wind turbines manufactured by Siemens (type SWT-2.3-108) with a total installed capacity of 50.6 MW. The value of the investment is about 82 million EUR, and it, with an average household consumption of 6,000 kWh/year, can supply electricity to about 27,500 households. By putting into operation the Wind Farm Mesihovina, JP „Elektroprivreda HZ HB” d.d. Mostar once again proved its orientation towards renewable energy sources, adopting a completely new technology of power generation using wind, all in order to diversify its production portfolio and reduce dependence on hydrology.
