JAJCE 2 Hydroelectric Power Plant is the first hydroelectric power plant built in the Vrbas River basin after the Second World War (the first two generators were commissioned in 1954, and the third one was commissioned in 1956) and is also the oldest power plant within JP “Elektroprivreda HZ HB” d.d. Mostar. Jajce 2 HPP is located in Central Bosnia Canton on the right bank of the Vrbas River, along the main road Jajce – Banja Luka. It is 17 km away from the town of Jajce, and it is about a hydroelectric power plant of the storage-diversion medium pressure type. The period from 1992 to 1995 was the most difficult period in the operation of the power plant. The outer part of the plant was the target of constant attacks from the very beginning of the war until the occupation of Jajce in October 1992. At that time, the power plant was still in operation, and some rehabilitation of the plant was carried out, and for the first time since its construction, it was operating in islanded mode and supplied the narrower area of the Municipality of Jajce.
