RAMA Hydroelectric Power Plant is the largest hydroelectric power plant within JP “Elektroprivreda HZ HB” d.d. Mostar. Since the start of power generation, back in 1968, it has been operational continuously with short interruptions only during the Homeland War in 1993. Rama HPP is very important not only because of its installed capacity of 160 MW and average annual power generation of 650 GWh but also because of its specific construction and natural water overflow to the dam with a reinforced concrete facing that was the largest dam in Europe at that time.
The plant is of the storage-diversion type and uses the waters of the Rama River with a hydraulic head (water drop) of 325 meters.
